1.Aims

Transhumant Festival is an engaged cinema event to do the social transformation.  

It aims to reach audiences far away from culture, both geographically and by social circumstances, to make them participants and show topics that concern society and that are not sufficiently disseminated in movie theatres, media or usual audiovisual distribution channels.

It will showcase national and international cinematographic works and photojournalism reportages that focus on:

•  Social, political, environmental, mountain, journalistic or historical research. 
• Showing some form of activism in favour of human rights and respect for the environment.
• Valuing positive human relations and diversity of cultures.
• Valuing the equity between women and men.

2. Transhumant Festival dates

Competition sections from September 9th to November 30th, 2025

From September 9th to December 31st of 2025 will have preview sessions, special sessions out of competition, public presentations, sessions of the catalogue Cinema with Values. This edition will realise sessions for collective special with risk of social exclusion and there will be sessions in little town far away from the cultural reference centres.

3. Organizer

Dinàmic Enginy SLU, producer, exhibitor and distributor of cinema is the organizing entity of the Transhumant Festival with the collaboration with other entities in the several venues.

4. Participants

Producers, directors and distributors of any country who own the rights of the works with which they compete can participate in the festival. They must also be the owners of the images and audios of the film.

5. Conditions of the works

Films, which include disrespectful contents for any person, group, collective or entity will not be accepted. They cannot induce to proselytism, neither to political nor religious propaganda.

6. Sections

The official sections in the 2023 edition of the Transhumant Festival are 3:

CINEMA AND AUDIOVISUAL MEDIA

• Films, documentaries or fiction (31 minutes minimum - 120 minutes maximum).
• Short films, documentaries or fiction (less than 30 minutes).

PHOTOGRAPHY

• Photojournalism report (Minimum 5 photographs, maximum 20 photographs).

7. Awards 2025

The jury, made up of filmmakers and film, photography and journalism specialists, will award the following prizes:

Film and Audiovisual Media Awards:

• Best Fiction Feature Film Award
• Best Documentary Feature Film Award
• Best Fiction Short Film Award
• Best Documentary Short Film Award
• Award to the concord. Awarded by the jury of this prize, that will be formed by people of different religious, cultural and ethnic realities.
• Audience Award for open audience polling during the festival.
• Young Award, awarded by a jury formed by young people.

Honorary Awards:

• Film, Audiovisual Media or Communication Career Award.
• Photographic Career Award.

• Best Photojournalism Report Film Award
• Vall de Núria Photographic Contest Award*.

Any modification or new award that isn’t included in these rules and regulations will be announced via the communication channels of the TRANSHUMANT festival (web, press communications, etc.)

The Award consists of one statuette.

The Awards are public recognition of creativity and the social values that are transmitted for the works.

They don’t have any economic endowment because the social consciousness, individual or collective, is priceless. It’s a value itself. 

However, the winners will be able to receive awards paid in kind by companies or partners.

Therefore, we are looking for creators who want to submit their works with a message without economic remuneration.

8. Works requirements

CINEMA AND AUDIOVISUAL MEDIA

It can be presented any national or international documentary or fiction film, which include social awareness, environment and mountain values, journalistic or historical research as a theme, or showing some form of activism in favour of human rights, diversity of cultures and/or promoting the equity between women and men

• Feature film 
  • Maximum film length: 120 minutes.
  • Minimum film length: 31 minutes

• Short film
  • Maximum film length: 30 minutes.

PHOTOGRAPHY

It can be presented any national or international photographic reportage (set of digital photographs), whose thematic narrative includes include social awareness, environment and mountain values, journalistic or historical research as a theme, or showing some form of activism in favour of human rights, diversity of cultures and/or promoting the equity between women and men.

  • Maximum number of photographs: 20
  • Minimum number of photographs: 5

9. Requirements for registration

• • Registration fees are:
    • €10 (Early bird) for film entries until May 6th, 2025
    • €20 for every film entry from May 6th to May 26st, 2025.
    • €40 for every film entry from May 26th to June 15th, 2025.
    • Photographic reports have free fees
      
      
  • Movies can be shot in any language; however, they have to be subtitled in Spanish or in Catalan if the audio language isn’t Spanish or Catalan.
    
    
  • All the subtitles, English version included, have must keep to the standards quality and the translation is not permitted that it has been automatically made. If that happens, they will be rejected.
  
  
  • The deadline for the audiovisual media and cinema works is June 15th, 2025. Extended deadline for photo reports until June 30!
  
  

  It foresees an extended deadline by extraordinary causes of until June 30th, 2025.

  
  
  • Information note: on the perspective of gender and equality in the authorship and prominence of the works. The TRANSHUMANT festival will have an equitable program (direction, music, script and protagonists in the case of audiovisuals, author of the photographs and protagonists in the case of the reports). This aspect is not a requirement in the works to be submitted, however it will be taken into account in the final selection.

        • Photo format: JPG, quality 12, resolution 300 ppp and 1080 pixels of height minimum.
        • Every photo file’s name must contain the order of the photo in the reportage if the author wants to.
          
          

  If any data is missed, the entry will not be valid.

  Participants can only present 2 works.

  Selected works publication: August 18th, 2025.

10. Delivery of selected works

• • The PHOTOGRAPHIC REPORTS will not be send any more. The materials presented are enough for the screenings.
    
    
  • In the case of the AUDIOVISUAL WORKS would be selected. The authors will have to send the work for the screenings before September 2nd, 2025. The technical formats are:  
    • DCP 2K (Flat or SCOPE). 
    • MP4 file, 1080px, H264 compression and AVG Bitrate: 10MBPS at 15MBPS.

The message must include work’s title; author’s name and the same email account that in online platforms form.
  • PLEASE NOTE: The movies selected must arrive before September 2nd, 2025.  Otherwise, the works will not be accepted.
  • The receipt of movies will be noticed by email.

11. Works quality

The organization reserves the right to select entry works with technical and creative quality criteria.

12. Jury

The Jury will be compounded by audiovisual and photography professionals and other representative people from civil society. Some award could be declared lacking if the jury considers so.

13. Works exhibition

Selected works for the official competition will show publicly from September 9th to December 31st, 2025.

Important: The festival has a hybrid nature, during the festival the works will be available to view on the festival's online channel at Filmin.es and Filmin.cat. The channel will be accessible only by subscription and only in the geographical area of ​​Spain.

All contest participants have to pay entrance ticket in the venues that they do not present their works. Only two entrance tickets will be given for every work in the session that the work will be presented.

The organizers encourage all participants to participate in the other sections and parallel activities as spectators, not only in the sessions which will project their own works. 

For every selected word, the organization will pay the rights of the exhibition to the producers or authors, which are:

• €150 for every feature film (either documentary film or fiction film).
• €75 for every short film, (either documentary film or fiction film).
• €60 for every photojournalism reportage.

It is important and remarkable to say, that one of the foundational characteristics of Transhumant Festival is that there are no prizes on cash, because the social consciousness and the commitment of the works has not price, in return, all the money deserved to prizes it is delivered to all the authors in the payment of rights of public exhibition to all the official selection works. 

The organization reserves right to show the entire winner works in the complete format in the different editions of Transhumant Festival, for the different organizer entities, in any space or location. The organization warrants the authorship of the works. 

The authors give up the commercial and operating rights in these promotional sessions or other special sessions that it could be programmed in other editions and in other dates of Transhumant Festival.

In other cases, if any projection that arises, the organizer entities will communicate it to the authors.

The bills of rights of exhibition that receive with back date to December 31st, 2025 will not pay.

14. Transhumant Festival online viewing channel

Also, with the intention of making the selected audiovisual works better known and promoted, the TRANSHUMANT festival will also have a permanent online viewing version through a Filmin channel, www.filmin.es and www.filmin.cat, the paid viewing platform online. All the works selected for the competition will be projected in the online channel between the dates of the festival of this year. 

Candidates may optionally sign a contract for the non-exclusive exhibition of selected works within the Transhumant Festival channel at www.filmin.es and www.filmin.cat for one year from the start of Transhumant Festival 2025. This option will allow candidates to earn income based on the online views of www.filmin.es and www.filmin.cat subscribers who have films within Transhumant Festival channel. Revenue from views will be detailed in this contract.

Apart from this edition. Transhumant Festival will have a permanent selection on the Filmin channel of the best works from previous editions.

15. The inclusion of the selected works in the catalogue Cinema with values of Transhumant Cinema

With the vocation and objective to give more diffusion to the audiovisual works selected, the entity organiser, has created the Catalogue Cinema with Values. Films in this catalogue will be promoted through cultural and social entities (civic public centres, libraries, schools, etc) where will project the films in cineforum sessions in order to foment the debate and the reflection. Each session, that it will be contracted with the films included in the catalogue will have its rights of exhibition paid by Transhumant Cinema. 

The authors will always be notified of any screening that arises, both to pay for the public exhibition rights and for possible presentations in the places where they take place.

16. Possibility of distribution in Spanish film market

Transhumant Cinema offers distribution agreements in Spain to all authors interested

17. Awards and winners announcement

October 11th, 2025, during the closing ceremony. The list of winners will be published on the website and the others social media channels of Transhumant Festival.

18. Responsibility

All participants that present their works to Transhumant Festival take responsibility about possible complaints about rights of others that involve their works.

19. Right to change the Rules and regulations

The organization reserves the right to change the rules and regulations if the circumstances oblige to do so.

20. Rules and regulations acceptance

To submit a work to a competition implies the acceptance of these rules and regulations.

Film, Memory, Peace, and Human Rights Program for Secondary and Vocational Education Centers

Promoted by the Catalan Agency for Cooperation in collaboration with the Filmoteca de Catalunya and Memorial Democràtic

Program Description

The Film, Memory, Peace, and Human Rights Cycle includes screenings and educational activities associated with the fields of democratic memory: peace and human rights, and linked to an international day related to these themes. This cycle is organized by the Educational Services of the Filmoteca de Catalunya, the Department of Education, the Directorate General of Democratic Memory, and the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation with the dynamization and elaboration of didactic material by Cinema Transhumant.

Target Audience

This film cycle is aimed at ESO, Baccalaureate (BAT), and Vocational Training students.

Program Objectives

The objective of the cycle is to promote social transformation through critical reflection on human rights. To do this, a series of international days representative of the priority sectors of Catalan cooperation, such as peace and non-violence, women's empowerment, or historical memory, are chosen. Another line of work of the course is media literacy, to foster the interest of children and young people in cinema and train them in the critical reading of audiovisual formats and languages.

The film sessions are animated by an entity specialized in audiovisual language and culture, and involve associations engaged in the field of human rights. In addition, the cycle offers a series of resources to schools to complement the sessions, such as teacher support and didactic material to work on before and after the classroom session.

The Audiovisual, Tool, and Strategy for Transformation

This program is part of the Development Education line. Through this axis, the Government works for the construction of a citizenship that defends the dignity of people, linking local phenomena with global ones, being aware of the impacts of their actions on a global scale, as well as the power of change and generation of alternatives that an empowered citizenship has in their hands.

The Educational Journey

Before the Session

First, the theme of each session is conceptually presented and developed in a dossier delivered to the participating centers, considering the educational stage we are addressing. There will be established objectives according to the competencies and curricular knowledge of each educational stage.

The dossier proposes the viewing of clips, news, and content reading proposals, and an interactive content version of the educational dossier and pre-session activity to work on in class.

During the Session

Planned activities with an approximate duration:

• Introduction. 5 minutes
• Basic knowledge introduction. 5 minutes
• Testimonies. 10 minutes
• Film clip screening. 50 minutes
• Film forum + Activity. 30 minutes

After the Session

A reflective activity is proposed back at the school, on the material viewed during the film session to consolidate the knowledge.

Once the tasks are completed, an evaluation of the activity can be carried out.

Session Details

• The sessions are free for educational centers and funded by the Catalan Agency for Cooperation, however, they have a value of €1,413.60 + VAT.
• All sessions include films and, in addition, an expert on the subject as a guest to work on aspects of audiovisual culture and human rights.
• A complete pedagogical dossier is provided to prepare the session in class before and after the activity.
• The ages indicated must be adhered to as the sessions are prepared considering these age ranges.
• The dates of the “international day of” are not necessarily the ones chosen to conduct the sessions in the centers, as these themes can be addressed at any time of the year, and only those held at the Filmoteca adhere to this date coherence.
• Sessions can be held in an educational center space (with minimum conditions for projecting audiovisual fragments) or in a cinema or municipal space with the necessary technical requirements. The latter option is recommended because experiencing cinema outside the educational center reinforces the knowledge and values acquired by young people.

Descripción del ciclo

El Ciclo Cine, Memoria, Paz y Derechos Humanos incluye proyecciones y actividades pedagógicas asociadas a los ámbitos de memoria democrática: paz y derechos humanos, y al mismo tiempo vinculadas a un día internacional relacionado con estas temáticas. Este ciclo está organizado por los Servicios Educativos de la Filmoteca de Cataluña, el Departamento de Educación, la Dirección General de Memoria Democrática y la Agencia Catalana de Cooperación al Desarrollo con la dinamización y elaboración del material didáctico por parte de Cinema Transhumant.

¿A quién va dirigido?

Este ciclo de cine se dirige al alumnado de ESO, Bachillerato (BAT) y Ciclos formativos.

Objetivos del programa

El objetivo del ciclo es fomentar la transformación social a partir de la reflexión crítica sobre los derechos humanos. Para hacerlo, se eligen una serie de días internacionales representativos de los sectores prioritarios de la cooperación catalana, como la paz y la no-violencia, el empoderamiento de las mujeres o la memoria histórica. Otra línea de trabajo del curso es la alfabetización mediática, con el fin de fomentar el interés de niños y jóvenes por el cine y formarlos en la lectura crítica de los formatos y lenguajes audiovisuales.

Las sesiones de cine son dinamizadas por una entidad especializada en lenguaje y cultura audiovisual, y cuentan con la participación de asociaciones implicadas en el ámbito de los derechos humanos. Además, el ciclo ofrece una serie de recursos a las escuelas para complementar las sesiones, como asesoramiento al profesorado y material didáctico para trabajar previamente y posteriormente en el aula.

El audiovisual, herramienta y estrategia de transformación

Este programa se enmarca dentro de la línea de Educación para el Desarrollo. A través de este eje, el Gobierno trabaja por la construcción de una ciudadanía defensora de la dignidad de las personas, que vincula los fenómenos locales con los globales y que es consciente de los impactos que sus acciones tienen a escala mundial, así como del poder de cambio y de generación de alternativas que tiene en sus manos una ciudadanía empoderada.

El recorrido educativo

Antes de la sesión

Primero se plantea y se desarrolla, conceptualmente, la temática de cada sesión en un dosier que se entrega a los centros participantes, teniendo en cuenta la etapa educativa a la cual nos dirigimos. Habrá unos objetivos establecidos según las competencias y saberes curriculares de cada etapa educativa.

En el dosier se propone el visionado de clips, noticias y propuesta de lectura de contenidos y una versión del dosier en versión contenido interactivo para trabajar en clase del dosier educativo y actividad de antes de la sesión.

Durante la sesión

Actividades previstas con duración aproximada:

• Presentación. 5 minutos
• Introducción a la materia, conocimientos básicos. 5 minutos
• Testimonios. 10 minutos
• Proyección de fragmentos de películas. 50 minutos
• Cinefórum + Actividad. 30 minutos

Después de la sesión

Se plantea una actividad reflexiva ya en el centro escolar de nuevo, sobre el material visionado durante la sesión de cine para consolidar los conocimientos.

Finalizadas las tareas se podrá hacer una evaluación de la actividad.

Detalle de las sesiones

• Las sesiones son gratuitas para los centros educativos y financiadas por la Agencia Catalana de Cooperación, sin embargo, tienen un valor de 1.413,60 € + IVA.
• Todas las sesiones incluyen películas y además, con una persona experta en la temática que viene como invitada y se trabajan tanto aspectos de la cultura audiovisual como de derechos humanos.
• Se facilita un dosier pedagógico completo para preparar la sesión previamente en clase y después de la actividad.
• Es necesario que las edades sean las indicadas ya que las sesiones se han preparado teniendo en cuenta estas franjas de edad.
• Las fechas del “día internacional de” no son necesariamente las que elijan para realizar las sesiones en los centros, ya que son temas que se pueden tratar en cualquier momento del año y solo es en las que hacemos en la Filmoteca, que respetamos esta coherencia de fecha.
• Las sesiones se pueden realizar en un espacio del centro educativo (que tenga unas condiciones mínimas para la proyección de fragmentos audiovisuales) o bien en un cine o espacio del municipio con las necesidades técnicas. Esta última opción es la recomendada porque vivir la experiencia de cine fuera del centro educativo refuerza los conocimientos y valores que adquirirán los jóvenes.
• Si están interesados/as, es necesario que completen el siguiente formulario lo antes posible ya que tenemos un límite de sesiones (solo 12) e intentamos que estas estén repartidas por el territorio de Cataluña.

Descripció del cicle

El Cicle Cinema, Memòria, Pau i Drets Humans inclou projeccions i activitats pedagògiques associades als àmbits de memòria democràtica: pau i drets humans, i alhora vinculades a un dia internacional relacionat amb aquestes temàtiques. Aquest cicle està organitzat pels Serveis Educatius de la Filmoteca de Catalunya, el Departament d’Educació, la Direcció General de Memòria Democràtica i l’Agència Catalana de Cooperació al Desenvolupament amb la dinamització i elaboració del material didàctic per part de Cinema Transhumant.

A qui va dirigit?

Aquest cicle de cinema es dirigeix a l’alumnat d’ESO, Batxillerat (BAT) i Cicles formatius.

Objectius del programa

L’objectiu del cicle és fomentar la transformació social a partir de la reflexió crítica sobre els drets humans. Per a fer-ho, s’escullen una sèrie de dies internacionals representatius dels sectors prioritaris de la cooperació catalana, com la pau i la no-violència, l’apoderament de les dones o la memòria històrica. Una altra línia de treball del curs és l’alfabetització mediàtica, amb el fi de fomentar l’interès d’infants i joves pel cinema i formar-los en la lectura crítica dels formats i llenguatges audiovisuals.

Les sessions de cinema són dinamitzades per una entitat especialitzada en llenguatge i cultura audiovisual, i compten amb la participació d’associacions implicades en l’àmbit dels drets humans. A més, el cicle ofereix una sèrie de recursos a les escoles per complementar les sessions, com assessorament al professorat i material didàctic per treballar prèviament i posteriorment a l’aula.

L'audiovisual, eina i estratègia de transformació

Aquest programa s’emmarca dins la línia d’Educació per al Desenvolupament. A través d'aquest eix, el Govern treballa per la construcció d’una ciutadania defensora de la dignitat de les persones, que vincula els fenòmens locals amb els globals i que és conscient dels impactes que les seves accions tenen a escala mundial, així com del poder de canvi i de generació d’alternatives que té a les seves mans una ciutadania apoderada.

El recorregut educatiu

Abans de la sessió

Primer es planteja i es desenvolupa, conceptualment, la temàtica de cada sessió en un dossier que es lliura als centres participants, tenint en compte l’etapa educativa a la qual ens dirigim. Hi haurà uns objectius establerts segons les competències i sabers curriculars de cada etapa educativa.

En el dossier es proposa el visionat de clips, notícies i proposta de lectura de continguts i una versió del dossier en versió contingut interactiu per treballar a classe del dossier educatiu i activitat de l’abans de la sessió.

Durant la sessió

• Introducció a la matèria, coneixements bàsics. 5 minuts
• Testimonis. 10 minuts
• Projecció de fragments de films. 50 minuts

Es planteja una activitat reflexiva ja al centre escolar de nou, sobre el material visionat durant la sessió de cinema per consolidar els coneixements.

Finalitzades les tasques es podrà fer una avaluació de l’activitat.

Detall de les sessions

• Les sessions són gratuïtes pels centres educatius i finançades per l’Agència Catalana de Cooperació, tanmateix, tenen un valor de 1.413,60 € + IVA.
• Totes les sessions inclouen films i a més, amb una persona experta en la temàtica que ve com a convidada i s’hi treballen tant aspectes de la cultura audiovisual com de drets humans.
• Es facilita un dossier pedagògic complet per preparar la sessió prèviament a classe i després de l'activitat.
• Cal que les edats siguin les indicades ja que les sessions s’han preparat tenint en compte aquestes franges d’edat.
• Les dates del “dia internacional de” no són necessàriament les que escolliu per a fer les sessions als centres, ja que són temes que es poden tractar en qualsevol moment de l’any i només és en les que fem a la Filmoteca, que respectem aquesta coherència de data.
• Les sessions es poden realitzar en un espai del centre educatiu (que tingui unes condicions mínimes per a la projecció de fragments audiovisuals) o bé en un cinema o espai del municipi amb les necessitats tècniques. Aquesta darrera opció és la recomanada perquè viure l’experiència de cinema fora del centre educatiu reforça els coneixements i valors que adquiriran els joves.

10/15/2023 - The TRANSHUMANT Festival concluded this Sunday with an award ceremony at the Diagonal Theater in Campdevànol (Ripollès). The winning film of this edition was 'No callarem. Un film per la libertat,' directed by Claudia Arribas, Violeta Octavio, and Carlos Juan, which explains the situation experienced and still endured by the musicians Pablo Hasel, Valtònyc, and Elgio. These musicians have been targets of the Spanish state's legal persecution for the lyrics of their songs. There was also a special mention from the feature film jury for the film 'Explotando el edén, Île-à-vache,' directed by Raquel Gómez Rosado. The closing event featured a performance by singer-songwriter Cesk Freixas and an address by rapper Valtònyc from Brussels, where he has been living in exile.

The TRANSHUMANT Award for Best Short Film went to the film 'Si me querei, irse,' directed by Sofía Muñoz, which highlights the invisibility of domestic labor. The jury also gave a special mention to the short film 'Insumisas,' directed by Miguel Ángel Herrera and Laura Dauden, which portrays the struggle of five Sahrawi women. The Concordia Hospital of Campdevànol TRANSHUMANT Award, judged by individuals from various religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, was presented to 'El teatro de la vida,' directed by Marc Juan.

Finally, in the audiovisual category, 'Voces del Ges' received the Audience TRANSHUMANT Award through popular vote. This historical documentary was created by students from the Institut Cirviànum. The Youth TRANSHUMANT Award was given to the film 'La vida entre dos noches,' directed by Antonio Cuesta. It's worth noting that this award is presented by a jury composed of young migrants under guardianship, who also participated in a roundtable discussion to share their experiences with local students in Ripollès.

In the photography section, Antonio Aragón won the TRANSHUMANT Award for Best Photojournalism Report for his work 'Bailando con lobos' ('Dancing with Wolves'). Lastly, for the first time, a photographic rally was organized with different categories, and the winners were Pere Mir, Bea Torres, Sergi Sanz, Laura Soler, and Albert Basagaña.

Although the festival continues with itinerant sessions in various locations throughout October and November, the sessions of Cine TRANSHUMANT and festival TRANSHUMANT, which have brought socially engaged cinema, humanitarianism, and photojournalism to vulnerable communities, have already drawn 2,776 in-person viewers. By the end of December, the festival will have reached around 40 localities with a total of 83 sessions, making this edition the most locally oriented one yet.

Regarding the acknowledgments made during this edition, which began on September 22, the Catalan actress Carme Elias received the TRANSHUMANT Lifetime Achievement Award for Audiovisual and Communication, while the photojournalist Anna Turbau was honored with the TRANSHUMANT Lifetime Achievement Award for Photography, presented during the Committed Photography Day held at the old Montagut spa (Vall de Ribes).

A film created as part of the Cine en curso program with a collective direction by Maria Caniego, Jana Casas, Arià Castany, Aina Lira, Pau Miravete, Duna Montero, Sara Platero, Juan Riera, Merced Rodríguez, Karen Rodríguez, Angela Ruiz, Guim Serra, Queralt Solà, and Pere Soro, accompanied by teachers Sònia Cho and Marina Mascarella and filmmaker Jordi Morató.

• Youth TRANSHUMANT Award for the movie 'La vida entre dos noches,' directed by Antonio Cuesta.

Because from where we come, taking care of others is the foundation of our society and theirs as well. Values like empathy, caring for others, and helping. As immigrants, we have connected with the pain of the father and the son because we know it well, and we also know individual freedom when there is a support network.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR PHOTOGRAPHY. Anna Turbau

Anna Turbau / RTVE Photography

Anna Turbau (Barcelona, 1949). A photographer with a body of work characterized by her social sensitivity and denunciatory nature. She captured the Transition period with images that shed light on a historical era when shadows prevailed.

She studied graphic design at the Escola Massana and later at the Escola Elisava, where she developed an interest in photography. After photographing Barcelona's Barrio Chino in 1975, portraying the poverty and marginalization that Franco's regime wanted to hide, she decided to put aside design and focus on photography. In 1976, she moved to Galicia, where she documented social struggles. Her images showed the reality of small, forgotten villages, their architecture, their people, and the role of women in rural society. She has worked for magazines like Interviú, Primera Plana, and Actual.

She has also held various exhibitions, including 'Galicia 1975-1979. A intimidade da imaxe.' She co-curated the exhibition 'Documentalismo fotográfico en los 70' in 2014 at the Jardín Botánico in Madrid, alongside Cristina García Rodero, Cristóbal Hara, Fernando Herráez, Koldo Chamorro, and Ramón Zabalza.

She has published the book 'Anna Turbau. Galicia, 1975-1979,' edited by the Consello da Cultura Galega, which accompanies the exhibition of the same name and features a selection of the 10,000 negatives from that period.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR AUDIOVISUAL. Carme Elias

Carme Elias Boada (Barcelona, January 14, 1951) is a Catalan theater, film, and television actress. She trained as an actress at the Barcelona Institute of Theater and at the Lee Strasberg Institute of Theater and Film in New York. With a long theatrical career that began in 1974 in Madrid and Barcelona, she has played roles in the most classic works of international drama, such as Terra Baixa, La dama enamorada, La Señorita Julia, Doña Rosita la soltera o el lenguaje de las flores, La gata sobre el tejado de zinc, El abanico de Lady Windermere, La Gaviota, Edipo Rey, and Calígula, as well as musicals like La granja animal, the first rock opera in Catalan.

In film, she made her debut in 1978 with the movie 'L'orgia,' and continued with films like 'Stico,' 'Victoria! La gran aventura de un pueblo,' 'El puente de Varsovia,' 'El rey pasmado,' 'La flor de mí secreto,' 'Los aires difíciles,' and 'Camino,' for which she received the Goya Award for Best Actress. She has also worked as a voice actress dubbing actresses like Daryl Hannah, Sigourney Weaver, or Demi Moore.

For television, she has done remarkable work that has made her very popular. She appeared in dramatic works for Estudio 1, the series 'Anillos de oro,' and 'Turno de oficio.' She was also a presenter on the program 'Y, sin embargo, te quiero,' all on RTVE. On TV3, she appeared in series like 'Arnau,' 'Mujeres de agua,' 'Mayoría absoluta,' 'La Riera,' and 'Cites.'

In 2019, the Catalan Film Academy named her an honorary member, and in 2021, she received the Gaudí d'Honor Award.

The Terra G· film festival celebrated its closing session at the Diagonal Theater in Campdevànol, yesterday, Tuesday, October 12. The mention goes to Descendents - by Judit Aranda Moreno and Carlos Collazos Rodríguez - for making visible the discrimination and racial and gender violence suffered by thousands of Catalans because of their origin and a non-normative aspect.

In the Iranian film The whimper and the existence by Hossein Allahyari, because it is like a symphony of the reconstruction of a town after an earthquake.

Special mention of the short film jury

In the Spanish production film El botón by Adolfo Peña, because  portrays a disobedient doctor out of respect for human rights, a vindictive and mysterious doctor who pulls her out of her depressive isolation: a quantum crossover full of poetry.

TERRA G· Award from Concordia Hospital de Campdevànol

In the film produced between the Dominican Republic and Catalonia, 15 Horas by Judith Collell, because the film shows with extreme realism the daily life and suffering of one more person from the village, with the obstacles they have to face every day face in all areas of life, it is necessary to highlight the crudeness with which the film exposes reality.

In the film  Adolfo Peña's button, because it has brought us to a point of connection with the protagonist, which transmits faith to us. Values such as faith are a fundamental thing in our lives, without it there would be no progress, dreaming, having goals and hope... And this has made us remember the faith that all those people who have helped us have had throughout our lives and of course how they have believed in us for coming this far and being able to share this day with everyone.

The Feature Film Jury of the Terra G· film festival 2020 awards a Special Mention to "Des-Extinción" by Alfonso Par, for having built a road-movie with an ecological scientific proposal, more than of dissemination, with a simple language, visually captivating and conceptually encouraging.

Award for the best short film

Reflejo, by Juan Carlos Mostaza

Haven't analyzed the technical production, the missatge that it transmitted, and the relevance of the problem that affects, above all, adolescents and young adults, the jury of short films has decided to award the Best Short Film Award to Reflection< /em>. This short film shows, clearly and perfectly dramatized in an animation, the family drama, personal suffering, reconciliation and forgiveness. A worthy example of how society has learned to be tolerant in the face of differences.

The jury awards the Premi de la concòrdia to the short film Flesh with the maximum artistic expression that shows, felt to be obscene, the crudeness of the feminine image as "donna-object", especially in the sexual , convertin-la en un bé d'un ús ús. Pepe Baeza (Valencia, 1955) has been a Photographer at El Periódico de Catalunya and El Noticiero Universal (1978-1990), Graphic Editor at El Periódico de Catalunya and Editor in photography and editing graphic to La Vanguardia (1990-2015). He has a degree in Journalism and a PhD in Information Sciences from the UAB. Professor of Photography, Photojournalism and Photographic Genres at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, UAB, (1989-2010) and of Photographic Reporting at the Faculty of Communication of the Pompeu Fabra University (2011-2013). He is the author of the book "For a critical function of press photography". Gustavo Gili, Barcelona 2001 and 2003 (2nd edition). Currently, he is the coordinator of the "Images" section of Le Monde Diplomatique in Spanish.

Award for audiovisual trajectory to Teresa Font, film editor

Teresa Font Guiteras, goes to Gallifa, Vallès Occidental. She is a Catalan rider with one of the most recognized trajectories of l'Estat. He has treballat more than 80 films with Pain and Glory, Numbered Days, Juana La Loca, Libertarias, Hot Moon, El Lute walks or bursts, Lovers, Fanny Pelopaja, Jealousy, The Day of the Beast, Ham, Ham, Numbered Days, The stunned king, Bwana,  Murder in the central committee, Dead of laughter or the television series The Riders of Dawn.

She has worked with many directors such as Vicente Aranda, Pedro Almodóvar, Imanol Uribe, Joaquim Jordà, Álex de la Iglesia, among others.

She Saved with the Goya Award for the best muntatge a couple of vegades, for Numbered Days and recently for Pain and Glory.

El dissabte 12 d’octubre de 2024 en la cloenda del festival celebrada al teatre de l’antic Hotel Balneari de Montagut, a Campelles, va comptar amb la conferència del fotoperiodista Gervasio Sánchez que va rebre el premi a la trajectòria fotogràfica a l'església de Montagut, la presentació de l'exposició Retratistes de ciutat, la Prosperitat amb la fotògrafa Gemma Miralda, l'actuació del raper poeta afro banyolí Daura Mangara i l'anunci de premis amb la gala de cloenda conduïda per l'actriu i comunicadora Txé Arana.  Els jurats del Transhumant Festival 2024 ha decidit atorgar els següents guardons...

Es presenta el nou llibre "Els misteris dels golluts o nans de Ribes"

La nova publicació trenca el mite dels nans de Ribes i els «humanitza» Articles de publicacions anglosaxones del segle XIX confirmen la discriminació i rebuig que va patir aquest col·lectiu Ribes de Freser. 29-12-21. Cent persones assisteixen amb expectació a la presentació del llibre "els misteris dels golluts o nans de Ribes" al Teatre Municipal de #RibesdeFreser que trenca el mite de la comunitat de persones que visqueren al #Ripollès fins a principis del segle XIX. Persones que van ser discriminades per la seva aparença física i la seva alçada, diminuta, i algunes desevoluparen el goll, producte de la malnutrició, condicions extremes de pobresa i aïllament social. El llibre aporta documents històrics i les primeres fotografies reals i verídiques contrastades dels anomenats nans de Ribes que es trobaven per tot el #Ripollès. El llibre es posa a la venda a la botiga del web del www.transhumant.com i aviat per diferents punts de venda del #Ripollès.L'acte ha comptat amb la participació dels dos autors del llibre, @miquelsitjarserra i Joaquim Roqué, la conducció de la periodista Mònica Pagès i la presentació de l'alcaldessa de Ribes de Freser, Mònica Sanjaume. Cinema Transhumant durà el cinema amb valors a refugis de muntanya i entorns naturals

Cinema Transhumant, és un nou projecte de cinema itinerant, compromès i amb acció social del Terra G· film festival que es realitza a l’estiu a diferents comarques pirinenques. Alcarràs es projectarà tres vegades a l’aire lliure a refugis de muntanya i entorns naturals amb sopars populars. Sis nits d’agost, film rodat al Ripollès sobre Lluís Maria Xirinacs, es projectarà en el mateix lloc on es va rodar el film, al Pla de Pegot d’Ogassa, i on també el mateix lloc on va triar morir l'activista i filòsof. L’èxit del Terra G· film festival, que s’ha estès l’any 2021 a vint-i-tres poblacions, a quaranta-vuit espais diferents, 2300 espectadors presencials i 12.500 espectadors en línia, ha fet crear un projecte nou, fent un salt endavant en dur el cinema a llocs rurals, al marge de la celebració del festival a la tardor. Un projecte amb identitat pròpia que abasta les sessions itinerants de maig al setembre: el CINEMA TRANSHUMANT. Cinema Transhumant som “traginers de films que es projecten de poble en poble“ Inspirat en la transhumància, la migració estacional dels ramats a la recerca de les pastures allà on n'hi hagi segons l'època de l'any: pastures d'estiu o agostejadors i pastures d'hivern. La transhumància implicava també un intercanvi de coneixements culturals i intercanvis entre diferents territoris allunyats geogràficament. Les sessions del TRANSHUMANT es realitzen, principalment, a l’aire lliure, són sessions d’estiu, traslladem la nostra pantalla a la fresca, les pel·lícules, tallers i activitats paral·leles a diferents municipis de la ruta tradicional de la transhumància gironina i pirinenca. A llocs i col·lectius on el cinema no sol arribar.Tal com passava quan arribava un ramat de bestiar a un poble després d’un llarg recorregut. La cultura que viatja i modifica el lloc on es mostra.L’objectiu principal és, a través dels valors que aporta el cinema en una atmosfera agradable, ser l’espurna del canvi personal, perquè des del TRANSHUMANT creiem que amb el poder individual de cadascú, sí que es pot canviar el món més proper. Els films que es projectaran, van més enllà del catàleg del Terra G· film festival, però tots tenen en comú el missatge compromès i la transmissió de valors humans i mediambientals. Seran un total de 33 sessions en 26 espais diferents.

TRANSHUMANT FESTIVAL

És un certamen de cinema compromès per la transformació social. "Som de muntanya. Som de terra endins. Som un festival de poble que s'estén a altres pobles i a llocs o col·lectius on la cultura no sol arribar. Obrim la mirada al món des del Pirineu." És un projecte impulsat per Joaquim Roqué, el que ha estat director i promotor del festival des de l'any 2014 que ha mostrat obres nacionals o internacionals que tenen com a tema la conscienciació social, mediambiental, o mostren alguna forma d’activisme en favor dels drets humans i la diversitat de cultures.  Totes elles mostrades a espectadors habituals que podrien ser els de qualsevol altre certamen. Sovint els festivals es queden en la fase de sensibilització de públics i els premis que s’atorguen només donen certa rellevància comunicativa a obres. Tanmateix, TRANSHUMANT fa un pas endavant per deixar la “teoria” per passar a la pràctica. El projecte té com a objectiu principal transcendir més enllà del fet cinematogràfic. El cinema és una potent eina transformadora de consciències, d’hàbits, d’actituds... De manera immersiva i amb activitats que donen valor afegit als films; testimonis, taules de debat, cinefòrums, tallers educatius... Volem arribar també a un altre públic, a espectadors amb necessitats socials o humanitàries. Dissenyant accions per prendre distància amb la seva situació personal, que creïn empaties amb altres col·lectius o problemàtiques que els ajudaran a superar la seva pròpia situació. Amb el cinema com a instrument per fer-ho. El TRANSHUMANT FESTIVAL té l’origen en els Golluts de Ribes, una comunitat de persones que varen ser discriminades per les seves particularitats físiques fins a la seva total desaparició a mitjan segle XX. Mesuraven menys d'1,2 mts, la majoria d'ells tenien goll, una malformació inofensiva però de mal aspecte. Científics que l’època els van descriure com a subraça. 

Terra G· film festival is a contest of engaged cinema to social transformation.

"We are from the mountains, we are from inland. A village festival which extends to other villages. And to another places where culture does not usually reach. We open our eyes up to the world from the Pyrenees."

It is a project from Joaquim Roque, the director and intellectual promoter of the Gollut Festival in the six editions made so far. However, Terra G· film festival goes one step further in leaving the "theory" to pay attention in the "practice". The main objective of the project is to go beyond the cinematic fact.

Cinema is a powerful tool that transforms consciousness, habits, attitudes ... Terra G· film festival originates in the Golluts de Ribes, a community of people who were discriminated against for their physical particularities until their complete disappearance in the mid-20th century. Salutació del director del Festival·G

Aquesta 6à edició del Festival·G es fa un gran pas endavant en el certamen, que fins ara ha mostrat films amb vocació social i humanitària als espectadors habituals que podrien ser els de qualsevol altre festival. Els festivals de cinema es queden sovint en la fase de sensibilització, i els seus premis atorguen certa rellevància comunicativa a les obres, i fins aquí es queden.

Tanmateix, enguany, el Gollut deixa la “teoria” per passar a la pràctica. És l’edició més inclusiva, que transcendeix més enllà del fet cinematogràfic i posa granets de sorra en la inclusió de persones en risc d’exclusió social; sessions per a col·lectius especials, s’integren persones amb discapacitat mental als jurats, fomentem la concòrdia entre cultures i religions, creant el nou Premi G· de la Concòrdia, que s’entregarà a una obra que faci valdre el millor dels éssers humans, així com la diversitat i la tolerància, també convidem a joves migrats i joves estudiants a una taula rodona sobre la migració cap a Europa de menors no acompanyats, uns explicaran als altres les seves experiències, i junts, formaran part del Jurat del Premi G· dels joves. Aquestes accions i moltes d’altres contribueixen al diàleg constructiu del qual el Festival·G ja comença a ser-ne un referent.

Esperem més de 2000 espectadors en 61 sessions. La Vall de Ribes obrirà els seus braços i serà una terra d’acollida a visitants. El 6è Gollut serà el més gran i extens en activitats realitzat fins al moment. Les activitats de l’OFF Gollut són per tota mena de públics, valoren els recursos turístics, el patrimoni històric material i immaterial, i els valors mediambientals de la Vall de Ribes.

Som de muntanya. Som de terra endins. Som un festival de poble que s’ha estès a d’altres pobles. Obrim la mirada al món des d’aquí. 

Tot això, no només ho fem a la Vall de Ribes i al Ripollès, sinó que ho fem en petites poblacions rurals. Perquè sí, perquè tenim dret també a l’oferta cultural de 1r ordre. Per això el duem a Barcelona, a altres cineclubs de Girona i internacionalitzem la Vall de Ribes als casals catalans de Zuric i Basilea, Suïssa.

Al Gollut practiquem la concòrdia en el nostre entorn proper per canviar el món, encara que sigui una mica. Amb tan sols amb una miqueta ens conformem. Si ho aconseguim només amb una persona… La feina que fem tots i totes els que formem part d’aquest gran equip ja haurà valgut la pena.

The politician, lawyer, journalist, 'scientist' and 'restless tourist' Miquel de Morayta, discovered on his way through the Vall de Ribes the existence of a community of 'dwarfs' who lived together near the castle of Sant Pere . It was in 1886 when de Morayta approached Vila de Munt and found cabins where these real characters lived. They were characterized by a small height, living isolated from the rest of the neighbors and by having developed a goitre.

Morayta sent a letter to El Globo entitled "Los enanos de Ribas", explaining his find in the Ribes Valley, he even went so far as to consider the possibility that it was a new species, which did not fall far well in the supposedly unitary Spain of the time.

Its publication caused an uproar at the time, numerous scientists and anthropologists came to Ribes de Freser to study them and many publications were made at the time by different entities around the world. Because of this exposure, the Golluts were forced to leave their lands, houses and were discriminated against and some of them exterminated until their disappearance in the middle of the 20th century.

Exhibition of cinema related to social commitment, environment, mountain and photojournalism based on popular culture.

The Golllut Festival is named this way because of the "nans de Ribes", the golluts, a community that was discriminated until its disappearance in 1950s. The festival’s main objective is to dignify them. It projects and rewards works that transmit values with social commitment, inform or denounce facts that affect society and that are not sufficiently disseminated in the usual cinemas, media or audiovisual distribution channels.

The origins of Gollut Festival and its prizes

Dinàmic Enginy SLU, producer, exhibitor and distributor of cinema is the organizing entity of the Festival Gollut with the co-organization with other entities in the several venues. the THE film society of the Associació dels Amics del Cinema de la Vall de Ribes is the founder organisation for the promotion of film projections and audiovisual creativity with the celebration of the Gollut Festival. The first Festival was held in Ribes de Freser, in 2014.

The contest has already become an audiovisual reference in cinema and committed photography. It focuses its attention on the audiovisual and photographic works that transmit values with social commitment, inform or denounce facts that affect the whole society or a part of it.

The G· Awards are local awards that recognize global values

The name of the festival and its prizes are recognitions to the “golluts”, a community of people who were discriminated until its disappearance in the 1950s. They were less than twenty feet away. They were also known as dwarves of Ribes, and they used to live in the surroundings of the Vall de Ribes. Most of these people had goitre (goll), a harmless but bad-looking pathology, which involved discrimination throughout the community.

The golluts have marked for generations the inhabitants of the Ribes Valley, who for a long time have not wanted to speak about them and have wanted to hide their existence.

The fact of calling Gollut the Festival and the prizes awarded also implies a public recognition of what they meant. Therefore, the festival shows the violation of social rights to the entire community of golluts who lived in the Ribes Valley. This is used as an example of what happens in the violation of human rights around the world.

For the fourth time, the G· Awards will recognize the works of the audiovisual, cinematographic and photographic creators and, apart from recognizing the audiovisual talent, will also do so specifically with the content and values transmitted in the works.

The day-to-day life of the people living in 21st century society is a constant contrast between polar opposites. Like Ying and Yang. Thus, we find global recession and economic progress, violation of human rights and increase of social conscience. The Festival Gollut shows the aspects that concern the society and that are not sufficiently spread in the cinemas, means of communication or habitual channels of audiovisual distribution.
